Anaheim 1 AMA Supercross Photos By: Shawn Brennan

Wow... What a season opener! I have to say that all the waiting for the Supercross season was well worth it. With all the changes going on, with Stewart and Reed, all the talk about bike problems, and the hype with Villapoto going into the 450's, I knew it was going to be a great opener.
It was my first time shooting Supercross and I was a little nervous, but once I got there and got to work, it had to be the most fun i have ever had shooting. I really feel that there is nothing like shooting something that you truly have a passion for. I got there early to check out practice, and just as you would expect in true Anaheim 1 fashion, it started raining. The track got slick real quick. After watching quite a few wrecks and a serious case on the triple, I went to the pits and stayed dry under the Suzuki tent.
All the racing was great that night, but the 450 main was definately the highlight. Reed and Stewart were battling it out for a while, until Bubba missed a shift. Then Reed and Stewart both hit the ground coming out of a corner. As the crowd was screaming for them to get up, Windam came arround the corner and T-boned Stewart. Both of them hit the ground, but Reed was the first to get back on his bike. Windam got back up pretty quick also, but Stewart couldn't get his bike running. Josh Grant ended up leading the rest of the moto. He got a toughblock banner wrapped up in his wheel and filled the place with smoke. After loosing almost his entire lead on the last lap, he ended up hanging onto 1st for the win.
All in all, it was a great experience, and alot of fun to just be there watching!
